Call for Entries: “Paribartit Nepal” Short Film Competition

Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (Kimff) invites entries to “Paribartit Nepal,” a short film competition that will highlight stories that reflect how Nepalis have experienced the momentous social and political changes that have taken place in the country’s recent past.

We invite you to create thought provoking short films up to three (3) minutes in length that underline the realities, experiences and perceptions of the transformations that define contemporary Nepal with the goal of contributing to a public dialogue on diverse aspects of Nepal through individual narratives and experiences.

As Kimff celebrates its 17th edition in December 2019, following a period in which Nepal has witnessed substantive changes as a country, including a decade long Maoist insurgency, the ratification of one of the most progressive constitutions in South Asia, the transition into a federal republic and the first local elections in 20 years. We invite Nepali filmmakers to address these milestones and share your perspectives through film on Nepal’s journey.

Kimff will accept the following film genres: documentary, fiction, experimental, animation, oral testimonies and personal stories. Whichever genre of film you choose, we encourage them to be innovative, thought provoking and original in concept.
