About the filmmaker.
Born in the Everest region of Nepal, Ngima Gelu Sherpa graduated with an Erasmus + supported MA in fiction film direction at Kino Eyes: The European Movie Masters program in Lisbon, Edinburgh, and Tallinn. Sherpa has been director, writer, editor, cinematographer, and producer for his films. His debut documentary short, , premiered at the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen in 2021 and won an Honorable Mention from the Ecumenical Jury. Kathmandu Monsoon, his sophomore documentary short, premiered at DMZ Docs 2022 and was in competition at the 33rd New Orleans Film Festival.
