Oceans of Fear

Synopsis

In 1984 Andy De Klerk opened a new route on a rock wall situated in the far south of Africa. Andy called it "Oceans of Fear" and promised to return one day to repeat the climb and then descend by parachute. Fourteen years later Andy returns and free climbing the route with two friends. It takes them two days, with a night's bivouac on the wall, to complete the climb. Once they reach the summit two of the members jump off the wall with the third member left to carry the gear back down.

Nic Good is a freelance cameraman and director. His first documentary, San Valentine, A South African Expedition won awards at the Banff and Trento festivals. Oceans of Fear, too, has won awards at Banff and Trento.
