Telenovela à l'Everest (Telenovela on Everest)
Switzerland
2021
20 min
This film features the ascent of Everest via its northern ridge by Facundo Arana, an Argentinian actor, very famous around the world for his roles in telenovelas. The story is told by the actor himself, his guide Tendi Sherpa and Swiss cameraman Nicolas Bossard. The story is intended to be as close as possible to the reality of life on the slopes of this sacred mountain. It is a three-dimensional perspective, between the dream of the summit, the management of the expedition and the execution of camerawork: a different view on commercial expeditions to Everest with unique images taken at over 8,800m above sea level.

About the filmmaker.
Nicolas Bossard, born in 1980 in Morges, Switzerland, is an adventurer and director-cameraman. In love with Nepal for twenty years, he decided in 2013 to cross the chain of the Himalayas on foot for more than 3,500km. Following this adventure, Bossard became a specialist in the isolated regions of Nepal and also released a film about the journey. He has been hired for numerous documentaries, including to film the Afghan, Kyrgyz, and Tibetan mountains and a northern ascent of Everest. He has also led numerous expeditions: in Tibet, Nojing Kansung (7,156m) and Shishapangma (8,013m), with paragliding flight of 7,500m; in Nepal, Nirekha (6,200m), Ama Dablam (6,800m), and many 6,000m peaks; and in Afghanistan, Noshak (7,450m). Some of Bossard’s high altitude ascents have included paragliding descents, one expression of his passion for snowboarding, paragliding, wingsuits and all flying machines. His future projects included bringing the wingsuit for jump projects in Nepal at over 7,000m.
