Urmi is about an 80 year-old British Gurkha veteran Purna Bahadur Gurung’s attempts to come to terms with the death of his only son, Bimal Gurung, who died 34 years ago. Bimal was a voracious reader and poet, and a budding journalist in Nepal. The grief and loss was so overwhelming that Purna Bahadur decided to dedicate his entire house to establishing a public library in memory of his late son. For the last 34 years, Gurung has been running the Poet Bimal Gurung Memorial Library in Dharan almost single-handedly.
